One of the region’s leading business centres, The Quadrant off the Parkway in Sheffield, has celebrated its 10th anniversary this June.
Also this year, Manor and Castle Development Trust (MCDT) – the community charity founded to regenerate the Manor and Castle wards which set up the successful business centre celebrate their own 18th birthday.
The prestigious project was built in a strategically important position to the highest specifications- aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly. The building features high levels of insulation, high air tightness, solar shading to minimise heat gain and photo voltaic solar panels on the roof. It has an environmental rating (BREEAM) of excellent.
Debbie Mathews, the chief executive of Manor & Castle Development Trust Ltd, joined me in the Sheffield Live radio studio this week to pre-record an interview for my Business Live radio programme.
Debbie explained the background to The Quadrant and discussed how and why the building – a social enterprise which provides the Trust with a sustainable source of income – has been so successful. And she explained the work of MCDT and the significant social impact it has achieved.
